In my time of dying...

Well there's a whole story behind this one, but i'm lazy so i'm going to keep it simple;

The man in this illustration is a death messenger, he takes the souls of the deceased ones. In this case it's the human girl he loves. Humans in this story always have a animal spirit around them that will guide them in life, when the human dies the spirit unites with the spirit of the human. When the animal unites with the human spirit it will leave a recognizable feature. In this case the animal spirit was a deer and so the human girl had horns.

The death messenger waited a long time for this day to arrive, so they could be together forever in death...
